"Trick or Freat!!"

So this year's Halloween was really fun due to Halle being old enough to really walk door to door and ask for candy. Miss Halle was the cutest bumble bee you have ever seen! We went to my mom and dad's and walked around their neighborhood for about a half hour. She would walk up to the door and say really quietly trick or freat! and then say thank you! It was sooo cute! I love that she is getting big enough to interact with us and other people and that we are able to do more things with her. I cannot believe how fast she is getting big, it has definitely been an amazing adventure with her!!

Now Jackson was a little giraffe, and didn't last long walking around due to the 40 degree weather, but he got some candy in his bucket before going back home with MiMi, while Ethan and I continued taking Halle around. Jack is getting to a really fun age, he is sitting up and blowing bubbles and babbling. He absolutely loves his sister and anytime she is around him he just stares at her with a massive smile on his face. I cannot believe that he will be 7 months old next week! Where does the time go?

We have had a great fall, going to the pumpkin patch, playing in the leaves in our backyard and trick or "freating" in cute little costumes. I can't wait to see what other great memories we will make as the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday soon approach! Stay tuned....

To Pee or Not to Pee??

Well we are not exactly potty training in full force but we are really encouraging Halle to let us know when she has to go. Its rarely a success! But she knows what poo poo and pee pee are and she likes watching Elmos Potty Time. But she has gone a couple of times, the first time being a couple weeks ago, she leaned over and pooped in her potty chair, then looked inside and said eww gross!! haha!! so cute! She later that day peed in the big potty and then peed on our floor 4 times, so that was the end of that. Then last night and today she told us she had to go and then actually went!! She also tells us when she needs to be changed, of course Jackson is being changed so that could be part of it. But nonetheless I think potty training is on the horizon, i'm looking forward to only buying one set of diapers instead of 2, it is getting pretty expensive! Not really looking forward to all the accidents and going to the bathroom every 5 seconds but i know it will be worth it! She also has another Elmo video that is about hands and feet and ears. Well it teaches you how to wash your hands so now she wants to wash her hands all the time, and while she washes them she says, "i wash my hands, my finguhs(fingers) and my fumbs (thumbs). So Elmo has been making more work for us but at least she is learning!!! So we will see what she decides next......

More of Him and less of me

For the past couple weeks i have been really challenged to think more of God and His people rather than of myself. I can tend to be a selfish person, as many of us can, we are human. Just wanting to stay in my comfort zone, do what makes me happy and not really going out and using my time for others...its a work in progress...but i have been trying to do things here and there, baby steps...and it is amazing how when i just focus on God and others and not on myself, the stuff in my life is taken care of, it is still being maintained even though I'm not solely focusing on it. Imagine that!! :) God is an amazing God who has asked us to go and make disciples, to love our neighbors as ourselves, that when we clothe and feed and shelter those who have nothing, we are doing that very thing for Him! It is quite a challenge to wake up every morning and decide you are going to live for God and not for yourself and each day i have to wake up and remind myself of that (and not everyday am i successful)...but imagine what our world would be like if we did that everyday or at least strive to do that everyday...it would look so much different. So my challenge to myself is to try at least once a week to do something unselfishly for someone else, something that is not necessarily comfortable for me but it serves God and His purpose. To, as my minister says, count the attempt, even if it doesn't go well, i at least made the effort and tried...and will hopefully continue to make those attempts more and more...making it less and less about me and more and more about Him.

An Amazing God

Well I'm pretty excited and i will tell you why so you can be excited too!!! About a month ago i was talking with a friend and they were just sharing in how they were struggling financially. Later that week i was just really wanting to do something to help them so i called another friend of mine and told her that i wanted to do something to raise some money for this family. She had also been thinking of this friend and wanting to help in some way as well. WOW!! Totally God. So we decided to have a huge church yard sale. That sure did turn out to be a HUGE project but we were up to the task!!! The big day was this past Saturday so we were up at the church everyday last week setting up, sorting and pricing. We had so many people donate and help us get ready for this big event, it was such a blessing to see all these people in our church step up and help serve. It was a week that turned out to be an incredible blessing for me and my relationship with God. There is just something about serving alongside people, it brings you closer together and closer to God. SUCH A BLESSING!!!! Sooooo the sale was a huge hit!!! After much work, sore backs, and late nights we raised a little over $1300 for this family in need!!!! It was so amazing to call this friend and tell them the gift we had for them. God is such an amazing provider!!!! Its so exciting to see how He works and even when you seek out to serve someone else and meet their needs, God meets yours as well, by bringing you closer to Him and others. What an Amazing God we serve!!!!!!!!!!

From the mouth of babes

So Halle has been talking up a storm for the past couple of months. Its pretty funny to hear this little person saying actual words, when forever all you heard was babbling. I thought i would share some of the sweet things that have been coming from her mouth. She is really into Jesus, which is really exciting since that is our ultimate goal for her to know, love and serve Him. She has some children's Bibles and every night she asks to read her "Jesus book" and then i ask her what song she wants momma to sing to her and she says, "Jesus i know, Bible tell me so" in the sweetest voice i have ever heard!! So i proceed to sing the song to her as she lays her head on my shoulder, only to pop up and put her forhead to mine and start singing too. There is just nothing more precious than praising Jesus with my not even 2 year old daughter!!!!! She definetely knows whats going on for sure!!! Our children are very much an example of how we should be in our relationship with God, full of excitement and purity. I challenge you to read your "Jesus book" and sing praises to Him with your loved ones!! Theres nothing greater!!

A new blogger

Well I have wanted to start a blog for awhile so we will see how good I am at it!! :) The most recent things going on right now in my life are that I just had a baby boy named Jackson Lee born April 16, so bringing him home to big sister Halle who will be 2 in August was quite interesting but they are adjusting well!! Its not as hard as I thought it would be to have 2 kids, but that answer can change depending on what day you ask me! haha!! It is really crazy to think that I am at this season of my life now, married 5 years with 2 kids, staying home, living the dream I always had growing up. WOW!!! It's pretty amazing!! I guess thats why i chose to name this blog a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend because every relationship i have in my life has made me who I am today and what a blessing they all are!!!! Well i hope you enjoy keeping up with the Sefton's it's a pretty crazy ride at times, but i promise you will have a good time!!!! :)
